My Standards List

When I was in 9th grade I went to a club in the mornings for christian girls, for this particular blog this is the first day I ever went there. I was trying something new and not really looking for answers. I was just trying new things. The message that day to all the girls was to have a standards list. Basically write down everything that you want in a boyfriend or future husband. So I did. I wrote a standards list and I tried to keep to it the whole time I was in highschool and I still have my list! I keep it in my bible along with my list of things to do before I die. I wanted to share it with everyone because I do believe that a standards list is very important for relationships of anykind. So even though there are some pretty random items in my list, remember I was like 13 or 14 when I wrote it.

My List:
1. nice
2. sweet
3. not a cat fan
4. has to want kids
5. funny but serious
6. romantic
7. Notre Dame or Alabama fan
8. against abortion
9. someone who likes the same food as me (I don't know why I put this?)
10. a dog lover
11. active
12. likes the same music as me
13. doesn't cuss in front of me
14. willing to be daring with me
15. has to beat me in thumb wrestling (see another weird one...)
16. can't be in love with himself
17. won't be a cheater
18. someone who will be absolutely honest about anything
19. strong.
20. smart
21. older than me
22. taller than me
23. someone who doesn't speak a different language so that I can communicate with them.
24. I don't care what happened in the past as long as he is different now.
25. absolutely no body piercings. no hair longer than chin. (I honestly have no clue why I put this.)
26. Has to get along with my family
27. Has to love me even already knowing my flaws
28. be able to do anything for me
29. has to wait for sex until marriage
30. won't judge other people
31. has to be willing to move to different places instead of just sitting in one place/ travel the world
32. a good dresser because I do not want to dress him
33. has to be able to cook something...
34. has to love God more than he loves me.

Okay so here is my standards list word for word. My point for this blog is a standards list can keep you straight. My other point is that I have finally met the boy of my dreams. When I meet guys I don't randomly just pull out my standards list from my purse and tell them I can't date them because they love cats, thats not what I am saying haha I found this list going through my "hidden book" and read them all and started crying because that feeling of never having to search for another guy again is over. and until you feel that feeling you have no idea what you are in for. Obviously me and Chad are not married so yeah anything can happen, but both of us have faith and feel like if we truly are in love we can make it through anything. I am writing this because I have 8 days left until I see that silly face again. But don't get me wrong, long distance relationships are NOT my thing. I am awful at them and every argument is my fault because I can't handle stress properly (blaming it on my heritage) But I love you Chad and I hope you are reading this.... even though I turned you into an Alabama fan, and you used to n ot like cats but now you are getting used to them because I like cats, well just my cats.  And thank you for making me look like crap when we go out on dates because you dress better than me :) AND THANK YOU FOR BEING MY BEST FRIEND! Sorry about this summer. <3
